Many federal websites remain inaccessible to those with assistive technology. A good example is the Department of Veterans Affairs. While Section 508 (no 504) is the governing policy, no one is really enforcing it. I believe that they should be held accountable, as many of their systems are being automated, but accessibility remains an afterthought. Like professionals in other fields, the foks working their technology should also have credentials from a certifying body, so it then becomes a priority.
