People with disabilities are sometimes overlooked when it comes to equal opportunities to teach and expose them to the "latest" communication technologies, software, apps, social media, etc. Income disparities between people with disabilities and those without make it harder for people with disabilities to access and engage these. Social media companies should know that if they promote initiatives to make training and technology affordable, available, and accessible to people with disabilities, not only will they engage and contribute, but giving them the opportunity to do so will improve their overall life outcomes, which benefits us all. People with disabilities comprise a significant market sector; companies who make an investment in learning how to engage them is good for everyone.
